Hamilton Big Band is back at the Hamilton Gardens for another year with a free concert! Enjoy a picnic with some classic jazz, latin, and classic pop hits with a beautiful view of the turtle lake.

They’re not being pursued by the cops, nor are they on a mission from God, but Hamilton Big Band is bringing you the music of The Blues Brothers.
Join the 17-or-so musicians for a selection of tunes that capture the excitement of car chases and rocket launchers, and will forever be associated with the cult hit.
The big band features a line-up of saxophones, trombones, trumpets and rhythm section, along with vocalists.
From Soul Man to Shake a Tail Feather, they’ll play the hits you remember from the movie.
Their performance might not save an orphanage but they plan to make sure you have a good time!

Thinking about having a go at playing some jazz, or just curious about our rehearsal process? Come join us for the evening in our open rehearsal! Players and observers alike are welcome to come along to this event, regardless of your skill or experience levels. So come have some fun, meet new people, and help us drive our MD up the wall!
We’ll be practicing the following:

– Stardust
Saxes, trombones, trumpets, guitars, basses, drums, and pianos are all welcome. Vocal opportunities are limited, but still welcome to apply.
